Basic Guitar Exercises for Beginners
These resources are best suited for students who are working with a private instructor.  If you are learning on your own, I hope you find something helpful, but this site does not claim to be a step by step method for how to rock out on guitar in 10 painless days.  Rather, I have made available videos and music mainly designed to help my guitar students.

Right click on the guitar neck graphic to print one out.  Mighty handy!

First download and print the music (pdf), then click on the videos and play along.

Below are some basic chords.  Em and Am are good to start with, but many people also begin with C and G7, or D and A7.  Please remember each chord has a special relationship with each other chord.  Also, there's more than one correct way to play the same chord, so if you see one printed differently elsewhere, don't freak out.  Just pick the one you like the best.
